CRAFTED IN CHARLESTON
Charleston-based artisan woodworker and entrepreneur Michael Moyer established Past to Present Decor in 2010 with a mission to create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted products using reclaimed pieces of Historic Charleston and the surrounding Lowcountry region’s rich architectural past.
Moyer was inspired by his new surroundings upon moving to Charleston in 2001. Mike has an eye for finding beauty in the unexpected, like an old door with chipping paint from a historic home being renovated or a rickety drawer from an antiquated desk. He transforms these pieces of (what seems like) junk into rustic-chic mirrors, artsy shelving, refined headboards and custom pieces upon request.
It was this community that drew him in, the people, the products, and especially the pieces available for reclamation here in the Lowcountry. As he continued to stumble upon more and more salvaged wood products—all indigenous to Charleston—he began to expand his craft.
